FOOD & CLOTHING PANTRY
Welcome to Our Visitors
Dear Friends,
As the Bellevue Church of Christ seeks to see the long-term transformation in our community we want to give a hand up instead of a handout, we recognize that people’s immediate physical needs have to be met before deeper emotional and spiritual healing can happen. In understanding this we have been meeting needs in our community ever since in the best way we can.
We at the Bellevue Church of Christ are passionate about seeing the meeting of physical needs act as an “on-ramp” to a relationship with God and a more fulfilling life.
Our Food & Clothing Pantry proudly serves the residents of Bellevue, Nebraska, and the surrounding communities.
Of course, this isn’t the only way we serve in our communities. We were proud to have had the opportunity to serve with the Church of Christ Disaster Recovery team in the year 2019 during our great flood. Providing much-needed assistance to those unfortunates who had lost everything. During this time many things we take for granted daily such as but not limited to drinking water were scarce for many. It took a lot of work and in some ways, we still can see the wake of this disaster even a year later.
Although we could not have done any of this alone. We partnered with many facilities during these times to address the needs of our communities. Even now we receive many donations in the way of school supplies, food, clothing, and more from not only our church members. It’s because of these things we are able to serve our community in such away. We thank you for your servant’s hearts!
If you find yourself in need of food and/or clothing please don’t hesitate in reaching out or visiting us during the hours listed below.
In addition, we have numerous volunteers that are more than willing to get involved in the community depending on what it is. One only needs to ask!
CLOTHING PANTRY (CLOSED)
Is also open every Tuesday from 9 a.m to 11 a.m.
“ Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. ” ~ Jesus

What kind of church is Bellevue church of Christ?
Membership in the church of Christ takes place when an individual obeys the Gospel by being buried with Christ through baptism ( Acts 2:38-47 ). There are no cards to fill out that makes one a member of a church, but merely following the pattern we see in God’s Word. We may ask you to fill out a card, but that is so we can know your name and try to get to know you a little better while we all serve God together.
What is your worship like at Bellevue?
One of the first things that may seem different to you if you’ve never worshiped at a church of Christ is that we sing without musical instruments! We read in the Bible that we are commanded to sing and make melody with our hearts ( Ephesians 5:19 ), so we praise and worship God without any instrument other than our voices. God gave us the most beautiful instrument of all to worship and sing praises to Him, our hearts. Don’t feel like you have to know every song, melody, etc., just sing from your heart and allow yourself to praise Him as His Word tells us to.
Psalm 100:1–5 Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth. Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing. Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. For the LORD is good; His loving-kindness is everlasting and His faithfulness to all generations.
What should I wear when coming to Bellevue?
There is no dress code at our church. Many people dress up, and just as many come dressed casually. When you worship with us you should be comfortable. Your comfort may be traditional church attire, jeans, and sneakers, or business casual. Come as you are! James 2:1-5
As a visitor, will I have to say anything or be singled out?
You will not be asked to say anything or introduce yourself as a visitor during worship. As our way of welcoming you, we do want to greet and welcome you, but never in a way that would make you feel uncomfortable.
You will be asked to fill out a guest information card if you would like more information about our church or have questions or a desire to learn more about God and the local church here in Bellevue.
Our sole purpose when meeting you is to let you know you are welcome here and to provide any answers or help you may need to decide if you want to make the Bellevue Church of Christ your place to worship. We hope you choose to worship with us, but we will not pressure you to do so.
Does your church take Communion?
The Lord’s Supper also referred to as Communion is observed each Sunday during worship and Sunday evening if an individual was unable to attend morning services. All Christians participate as we remember and honor Christ’s death on the cross. This is a time of remembrance and the unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine (grape juice) is not His literal body, but a symbol to remind us of His sacrifice for us. Without Christ’s willing and complete sacrifice there would be no hope for mankind. Matthew 26:26-29, Mark 14:22–25; Luke 22:19, 20; 1 Cor. 11:23–26, Acts 20:7
Men from the congregation will pass around a tray that has unleavened bread which members break off a small piece that represents Christ’s body that hung on the cross. It is not His literal body, but a symbol to remind us of His sacrifice for all sin. After the bread, a tray filled with tiny individual cups of grape juice is passed around by the men of the church. Each member takes one of the cups drinks and places the empty cup back into the tray. This grape juice, the “fruit of the vine”, represents Christ’s blood that was shed on for us. Without His willing and complete sacrifice, there would be no hope for mankind.
For more study and information, please read the following passages from the New Testament: Matthew 26:26-29, Mark 14:22–25; Luke 22:19, 20; 1 Cor. 11:23–26, Acts 20:7
Do you sing or have a praise band?
Is prayer a part of your worship service?
How do I become a member of the Lords Church?
Remember, we can never be “good enough” ( Romans 3:23, 6:23 ) by our own accords to be saved. We are all sinners and can never be saved on our own. We know and understand that it is only by God’s abundant grace and mercy that we are saved.
We see the pattern of how one becomes a child of God (Christian) repeated throughout the New Testament. This pattern of how a sinner becomes a Christian is what we follow in Bellevue. When a sinner hears ( Romans 10:14-17 ) and believes the Gospel message of Jesus (Hebrews 11:6), he would confess his sins (Romans 10:9-10, Acts 8:37), repent ( fancy word for turning away from sin, Acts 17:10, Luke 13:3, 2 Corinthians 7:10, Acts 2:38 ) and be baptized ( immersion, not sprinkling- Acts 2:38, Galatians 3:26-27, Mark 16:15-16, 1 Peter 3:21 ). In fact, in the Book of Acts, each example of conversion, the individual obeyed the command to be baptized! Then he would be called to live a faithful Christian life (Revelation 2:10, 2 Peter 2:20-22, James 5:19-20; Acts 8:22; 1 John 1:9) until Christ comes again to bring His faithful family home to heaven.
That’s it, after you obey the gospel plan that is laid out in Scripture you are now a member of God’s family.
What time and how long are your Sunday services?
Because of the COVID-19 crisis, we are only performing Sunday morning worship services at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
Our Sunday morning Bible classes for all ages start every Sunday at 9:15 am. In our classes, you can know that you will study God’s Word and have the opportunity to grow closer to God and each other through study, prayer, conversation, and fellowship.
Our worship services on Sunday morning start at 10:15 am and last about an hour and fifteen minutes. If you can’t make it to our Bible study at 9:15, please come for worship. Our worship services offer songs of faith and praise, a Biblically sound and relevant message for today as well as a welcoming, loving atmosphere, and friendly people who are eager to meet you, fellowship with you and connect with you.
We recommend arriving about 15 minutes before the service to allow time for parking and to give us a chance to welcome you!
Where will my kids go at Bellevue?
All of our children and youth ministries allow your children to grow and experience the promises of God through praise, worship, and Biblical instruction, according to Matthew 19:14.
Will I be asked to give an offering?
2 Corinthians 9:7 Each one must do (give) just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Will the Bellevue church pray for me?
Absolutely! The Bellevue church is a praying church. Simply fill out the prayer request on the Guest Card and we will pray for you specifically at the end of services. At the end of the sermon, the minister will offer an invitation for those who are in need of prayer to come forward and be prayed for by the minister or one of the elders. During this invitation, if you would like to study or learn more about salvation and what is required of you, you can come forward at this time as well.
We are also available to pray with you privately. If you would like to keep your prayer private, the elders will set aside a time to pray for you. In addition, we have a weekly prayer meeting each Thursday where the members gather to pray for those who are in need.
If you wish, you may also send prayer requests online through the online form here (and at the bottom of our website) or call the church office. Your prayer request will be forwarded to our minister and our elders.
Who attends the Bellevue Church of Christ?
Our members and visitors are young and old, single and married, with and without children. We have military members, teachers, students, and people from every walk of life. No one is more valued than another as we are all the same in God’s eyes. We’d love to add you to our family here in Bellevue as we continue to grow in God’s Kingdom.
How do we know that your preaching is scriptural?
Through the study of God’s word, we see throughout the New Testament the apostles of Christ preaching and teaching to both the sinners and Christians alike. We all need to hear God’s Word and here at Bellevue, you can rely on the knowledge that the Truth will be preached each and every Sunday. We will not bend to popular worldly beliefs but will stand on the Word of God! 1 Corinthians 16:13, John 17:17, Galatians 1:10, 1 Peter 5:8, Ephesians 6:10-18
In addition, we always encourage you to read the bible on your own to verify that the information you are hearing is correct. If you don’t have a bible please make mention of it before you leave and we will find one for you.
Some topics are harder to understand than others in this case there are many who would love to have an opportunity to study these topics with you not just our minister.
